Our TSA Chapter

Our TSA Chapter is one of the largest chapters in our local area, and we compete in almost all of the events offered by the TSA and the PA TSA organizations.  We are a group that gets involved in many local and community-based organizations and events and we support our local community through donations and sometimes work in the community.  We work to continue advances in technology and learn through many of the different events that our team members practice and compete in at local, state, and national-level conferences.  TSA is an organization that helps students learn and advance there own ideas and practice skills in areas from speaking to fixing a computer, and our TSA chapter works together to help the students achieve their own goals and keep-up with the technology of the day.  We work together as a chapter to help others succeed not only in their events and competitions, but also in their goals and advancing ideas in different fields.
For every completion we all come together and throw fund raisers.  These have a wide variety from bake sales to car washes.  We all work extremely hard and are serious about our work we do.  Our school cut many activities this year and TSA was one of the lucky one's that got to stay. Our chapter has a variety of personalities and people combined together to make one strong team.  We are all people that come from the different levels of the high school popularity and all grades, but those do not matter to us. Our chapter is not just a chapter, it is a family.
This chapter consists of our President, Vice President, Reporter, Treasurer, Secretary, Sargent at Arms, Historian and a Parliamentarian, along with twenty-five others but only part of them advancing to states.  We have one full time adviser and two part time along with many volunteers.  These are the people that make up the chapter we have now and got us students to where we are today.

Technology Student Association

The Technology Student Association (TSA) is a nationwide group comprised of over 150,000 middle and high school students. This association is the only student organization completely devoted to students interested in technology. TSA is supported by educators, parents, and business leaders who all understand the need for a technologically literate society. Over two thousand schools throughout the U.S. are participants in the organization including Stroudsburg where we have a chapter of over 30 members. The student members here at Stroudsburg are educated through a diverse range of competitive events and various leadership opportunities. The group meets in the high school building every Mondays at 3:00 to work together on projects, events, and fundraising activities.

The Technology Student Association (TSA) is a Regional, State, and National Chapter Club for students who enjoy their Tech-Ed classes as well as working with Technology. TSA is an extra curricular activity program that engages students in additional instruction and skills building within the Technology fields. The mission of the Technology Student Association is to prepare students for the challenges of a changing and dynamic world by promoting technological literacy, leadership, and problem solving skills, resulting in personal growth and opportunities. TSA competes in events against other school districts throughout the region, state and nation. The competition involves numerous types of technological projects, leadership challenges, and prepared presentations.

More information on the TSA can be found at this website:  http://tsaweb.org or at the Pennsylvania site at http://patsa.org

Technology Student Association Creed:
"I believe that Technology Education holds an important place in my life in the technical world. I believe there is a need for the development of good attitudes concerning work, tools, materials, experimentation, and processes of industry.
Guided by my teachers, artisans from industry, and my own initiative, I will strive to do my best in making my school, community, state, and nation better places in which to live.
I will accept the responsibilities that are mine. I will accept the theories that are supported by proper evidence. I will explore on my own for safer, more effective methods of working and living.
I will strive to develop a cooperative attitude and will exercise tact and respect for other individuals. Through the work of my hands and mind, I will express my ideas to the best of my ability.
I will make it my goal to do better each day the task before me, and to be steadfast in my belief in my God, and my fellow Americans."
